Welcome to Water Lane Primary Academy
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Water Lane Primary Academy.
Based in Harlow, and set in large and beautiful grounds, our school is very special – a happy and safe environment in which our children can learn, grow and develop into confident and successful young people.
The school has a caring team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child’s education and value your interest and support.
Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop: a strong knowledge base, high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. Our focus on Visible Learning strategies promotes independence, develops resilience and encourages all our children to become inquisitive, life-long learners.
We are delighted to be part of the REAch2 Academy Trust. REAch2 is a family of 60 primary academies across the country who collaborate and share excellent practice in order to provide the very best education for all pupils. REAch2 work collaboratively to offer a richness of experience that gives real colour throughout the time our children spend with us. This is exemplified through our innovative commitment to 11 before 11, which includes a range of experiences that are designed to inspire and stretch REAch2 children, including: sleeping under the stars, crossing a border, riding a large animal, performing a flash mob and completing 10 good deeds.
We warmly welcome parents, carers and visitors into the school. If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning, your child’s class teacher will be happy to make an appointment to see you. My Assistant Headteacher, Barry Watkins and I are also on the playground before and after school each day - we are happy to help in any way we can. Alternatively, please feel free to speak with the school office about any queries you may have on 01279 417 410.
Whether you are a parent of a pupil, or are considering joining us, we hope you’ll find all the information you need here. If you are considering enrolling your child at Water Lane, please contact our school office to arrange a visit and to meet with me.
Finally, please do read some of our newsletters to find out about key dates/events and what your child is learning. Paper copies can be made available upon request from the school office.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
Ms Elaine Brook & Ms Jenny Redgrove
