"Enrichment for life"
How to help your child with reading at home.
Improving children’s ability and confidence in reading is vital in supporting children’s learning and helping them to progress. An important part of that is supporting children’s reading at home. This page aims to help you with understanding how reading is taught in school and how to support your child to develop their comprehension skills when reading at home.
As a school to promote a love of reading we have a book exchange which can be found at the front of the school at pick up time (weather permitting).
There is a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books suitable for children from Reception through to Year 6. Feel free to come and choose a book to enjoy at home and then return it to choose another when you have finished.
To kick start each and every year as a school we all focus on a book from the same author. This year we looked at the whimsical world of Dr Seuss.
Wonderful displays of the children's work can be found in our library!
