Year 4

Music through the decades

Music through the decades 1

As our topic is now reaching the end of its journey, I would like to share with you the long term projects of your children.  Our classroom is adorned with all manner of coral, starfish and oceanic species.  Thank you again for all your hard work and support to help your child engage creatively this term.  Keep up the great work Year 4 !
What an amazing re-enactment of Roman life the children participated in today !  The Roman experience really captured their imagination and embedded all their prior learning in this topic.  As you can see from the photos below, the children were totally engaged and had lots and lots of fun.  Although a little chilly, the 'tortoise' was clearly one of the highlights of the day.

It has been an extremely busy time in Year 4 over the last two Autumn terms!  We have created some exquiste electrical circuits, explored insulators and conductors and even designed our own light switches.  In Art, the children have worked with clay to design their own Anglo Saxon jewellery which they spray painted gold, silver or bronze.  In Science, we looked at different types of animals and grouped them respectively.

We are currently in the process of completing our class Roman mosaic using different coloured tiles.  Finally, the children have benefitted from the Ukulele instruction for a period of 10 weeks and they have mastered a few familiar chords.   I have attached a brief portfolio of our learning to date.  Please keep referring to this page for future updates and pictures.  Enjoy.
